Story of Us wins PA award

Our 3,000-square-foot Story of Us exhibit with hundreds of photos and interactives was recognized by @Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations as one of the winners of its 2024 Special Achievement Awards.

The exhibit tells the story of Erie County, its founding and its residents. PA Museums is Pennsylvania’s statewide museum association with 350 members across the Commonwealth, including museums and historical organizations of many types and sizes.

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to all the staff, vendors and volunteers who worked on this exhibit.

Hey researchers — the Journal of Erie Studies 1972 to 1976 is now online

Journal of Erie Studies

Great news! The Journal of Erie Studies is online!

Our friends at Penn State University Press have created a digital version of our Journal of Erie Studies, published from 1972 to 2019. It was first published as a collaboration between the Erie County Historical Society, Mercyhurst University and later the Jefferson Educational Society.

A rebranded publication is currently in the works and will premiere in the coming months. The volumes from 1972 to 1976 are available now, and other volumes will be added until the archive is complete. This service is available thanks to the generosity of Penn State Libraries Open Publishing.
