In 1898, The Erie Public Museum started collecting items for exhibit. Then in 1903, the Erie County Historical Society (ECHS) began preserving Erie’s rich history and continues this mission today. You can become part of this mission in by getting involved with the ECHS today and help preserve Erie’s history for future generations.
With our small staff at Hagen History Center, volunteers are key to implementing our mission. Come join in the fun of preserving Erie’s rich history for future generations.

Donations to Hagen History Center help us maintain the Watson-Curtze Mansion, Carriage House, Archives Building and Education Center on West 6th Street in Erie, PA. Donations also help maintain the Battles Estate Farm Houses in Girard, PA. It is because of the ongoing support of the Erie community that Hagen History Center maintains over 35,000 objects and over one and a half miles of archive materials of Erie County organizations.
